Vegan Collagen Review: The Beauty Chef – Organic Collagen Booster

Ever since diving into the world of collagen, I’ve had my eye out for plant-based options.
To be clear, we know that collagen proteins are only found in animals (and now starting to be created from lab fermented yeast). But we also know that there is no way that beauty brands would exclude such a rapidly growing audience (vegans) from this trend. Whatever they came up with, I was curious if it would be a legitimate option or a scam.
Sure enough, I began to see vegan collagen options coming on the market.
Boosters vs. Supplements
At a closer look, I noticed that plant-based collagen options are actually collagen boosters. Meaning, while not made of collagen, they help your body produce it’s own collagen.
Given the controversy around the way our body processes and uses collagen peptides, and my avoidance of most animal products, this sounded like a great option, in theory. But does it work?
My experience
I tried my first Vegan collagen supplement – The Beauty Chef – Organic Collagen Booster. After using an entire bottle, I noticed that it gave me glowy skin, very similar to when I was using Marine Collagen Peptides. There are many different reasons that people take collagen, and everyone is different, but from an inside-out skincare supplement, I really liked this product.

P.S.
This has me thinking about how we can better optimise our diets to benefit our skin hair and nails without having to supplement. Let me know in the comments if this is something that you are interested in learning more about.
